AMU Initial Proposal 2005-2006 Article V: AMU Rights AMU proposes to incorporate 15 minutes in each staff meeting for purposes of AMU AMU proposes that release time be provided for the AMU President or designee. Article VI: Work Year and Hours of Employment: AMU proposes a limitation of 2 hours per unit member per week in compulsory unpaid meetings, office hours, tutorial and other student supervisory activities. Members shall not be required to attend activities scheduled on weekends. Article XVI: Class Size AMU proposes establishing a student to counselor ratio. The purpose of this ratio is to provide adequate counseling so that students may be adequately serviced in counseling needs. Article XXVIII: Leave Provisions: AMU proposes that unused accumulated personal days be stated on pay stubs. AMU proposes that unit member shall be entitled to sick and/or personal days accumulated at time of end of employment. AMU proposes that unit member may use, at her/his election, up to 10 days of unused sick leave for the purpose of personal necessity leave. Article XXIX: Compensation: AMU proposes a salary schedule increase commensurate with the increase in state charter school block grant funding. AMU proposes that salary schedule advancement include courses taken at non-traditional institutions. AMU proposes that a uniform procedure be developed for assigning and computing stipends. AMU proposes that additional compensation be provided for unit members with more than two (2) preparations. Article XXX: Benefits AMU proposes that current level of medical benefits continue with the increased cost to be borne by Green Dot. We further propose an improvement, if possible, in dental and vision benefits. Article XXXIII: Professional Growth AMU proposes that release time be provided for unit members to observe colleagues’ instructional practices in other Green Dot Schools. Calendar: AMU wishes to exercise its right to negotiate calendar. |
