Green Dot Public Schools seeks educators for its first public charter high school in New York City, opening in August 2008. Green Dot is a successful non-profit charter management organization, operating twelve high schools in Los Angeles.
This public charter high school is founded in partnership with the United Federation of Teachers.
LOCATION: Community School District #8, Bronx, New York
POSITIONS: Assistant Principal; English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Special Education, Art, Physical Education and ELL teachers; Guidance Counselors, School Aides, and School Secretary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor & Graduate degrees preferred; Appropriate New York State Certification
Preferred candidates will have the following skills:
- Demonstrated ability as a classroom teacher working with diverse children, including those with special needs.
- A range of teaching strategies and instructional techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
- A passion to help children achieve their dreams.
